Menopause. A time of pain, pleasure, or both. We know from our research that women experience menopause in many different ways. We also know that there is a silence around it, and if we are to break the taboo and have an open and honest conversation, then we need to listen to women’s diverse stories.
We are proud to present Portraits of Menopause: an online exhibition of personal narratives alongside uplifting images designed exclusively for the project by Dizzy Lou Illustration. The images are on the carousel below, and the full online exhibition itself can be found on the Festival of Social Science website. Do check it out and let us know what you think.
With huge thanks to Daisy, of Dizzy Lou Illustration, who has brought our research to life with her amazing artwork; to the women who have shared their stories with us; to the ESRC Festival of Social Science for funding our project; and to the team at Partnerships and Regional Engagement, especially Lynette and Katie, for super guidance and support.
