New York magazine recently ran an article on Playboy models then and now. It featured six women who had posed as Playboy pin-up girls, at some point from 1954 to 1979, stepping back in front of the camera.
The article included shots of the women as they were originally in Playboy, but also posing ‘sexily’ today. There are some (brief) interviews with the models about meeting the male gaze, then and now, and how their perspectives have changed over the years.
It’s certainly an interesting article, and has got people talking (see the comments section at the end of the article). Does it celebrate ageing female beauty? Take a look here I’d love to hear your thoughts.
